Aamal Al Abbasi

Aamal is the Managing Partner of the firm and has established expertise in litigation, real estate and construction, corporate, commercial and public law. She leads all the Real Estate litigation handeled by the firm and regularly advises local and international clients on Bahraini law with a particular focus on the Commercial Companies Law, Civil Code, Real Estate Regulations, Reorganisation and Bankruptcy Law, Law of Commerce, and the Civil & Commercial Procedures Law. She works closely with key local clients including the Office of H.R.H. the Prime Minister, Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO), and other state-owned companies. Aamal has also been appointed as a legal advisor in a number of governmental committees. She was awarded the Medal for National Service granted by His Majesty King Hamd bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2025 and the Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit granted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2022.

Experience

• Issued numerous legal opinions required for the financing of BAPCO and nogaholding’s strategic projects with a combined value in excess of $6 billion
• Appointed by the Government of Bahrain to lead two commercial litigation cases of high value (over $60 million).
• Advised on the drafting of a number of key legislative instruments governing Bahrain’s real estate sector, including the law governing timeshare arrangements, the principal law regulating the real estate sector, and the regulation governing owners’ associations.
• Advised on the sale of an SPV holding over 300 land plots in Bahrain, including transaction structuring and drafting, and negotiating the share purchase agreement.
• Advised on the subdivision and registration of a US$40+ million land parcel in Bahrain, including planning, zoning, environmental and regulatory approvals.
• Drafted agreements in relation to the development of a commercial complex for a government entity.
• Drafted and negotiated a car park agreement on behalf of a state-owned company in connection with its operations covering the terms of use, management, and commercial arrangements relating to the car park’s facilities.
• Leads all Real Estate litigation handled by the firm.
• Appointed by the Government of Bahrain to lead two commercial litigation cases of high value (over $60 million).
• Reviews and amends numerous laws and regulations in Bahrain.
• Handled numerous litigation matters before the courts of Bahrain, including the Court of Cassation, and represented numerous clients before the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR).
• Advised the government on high-value commercial contracts and strategic projects in Bahrain, with particular focus on Civil Law, Commercial Companies law, Law regulating the Real Estate Sector, Labour Law, and Civil Service Bureau Law.
• Advised the Government of Bahrain on supply agreements in efforts to secure the supply of Covid-19 vaccines and relevant transaction documents between the government and various pharmaceutical companies.
