Eman Khalid is part of the litigation team at Newton Legal and specializes in commercial, civil, and labor disputes, including rental, construction, real estate, and inter-company matters. She is also a member of the team advising clients on company formations in Bahrain.

Eman joined Newton Legal in 2020 as a Trainee Associate and was promoted to Associate in 2022 and subsequently to Senior Associate in 2026. Since joining, she has worked on a number of high-profile projects and disputes, advising leading family-owned companies, financial institutions, and government-related entities.

Experience

  • Advised and acted as local counsel on multiple company formations, including the establishment of a foreign manufacturer’s plant in Bahrain, securing all regulatory approvals and licences for an initial investment of US$ 14.5 million.
  • Represented a syndicate of banks and real estate entities in commercial real estate disputes relating to a major mixed-use development in Bahrain, including claims for outstanding rent, eviction, and compensation.
  • Acted on commercial dispute matters, advising on strategy, pleadings, and case management.
  • Led and contributed to a substantial portfolio of labour and employment disputes on behalf of a range of prominent corporate clients in Bahrain, including Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO).
  • Acted as lead counsel for BAPCO across a full spectrum of matters, including labour disputes, compensation claims, and contractor-related cases.
  • Represented prominent family-owned businesses and a family holding company in a multi-million BHD real estate co-ownership dispute, including issues relating to property management, subdivision of real estate assets, public auction sale, and contractual disputes.
  • Acted as counsel in disputes involving government entities, representing both public sector bodies and private parties in claims against government institutions.
  • Advised clients on regulatory and contentious matters related to social insurance, labour, and tenancy laws in Bahrain.
