Samar AlMahmood

Samar is an associate at Newton Legal, having joined the firm in 2018. Her main practice areas are corporate and commercial and merger and acquisitions.

She works closely with several leading financial institutions in Bahrain. Her experience includes advising on the cross-border share-to-share takeover of Ahli United Bank (recognised by the IFLR Middle East Awards 2023 as the M&A Deal of the Year), the development of standard retail and corporate account banking terms for a leading bank in Bahrain, the reacquisition of equity in regional pharmaceutical group, a large cross-border court-led restructuring of an international manufacturer and the sale of a global insurance company’s equity in a joint venture in Bahrain.

Samar currently acts as secretary to the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT).
