Maryam Al Abbasi is part of the corporate team. She joined Newton Legal as an intern in May 2026 and was promoted to Trainee Associate in June 2026. Previously, Maryam interned at Al Sahlawi & Co. in Dubai from September 2024 to January 2025, working on a range of contentious matters involving commercial, employment, and real estate disputes, as well as white-collar crime, medical negligence, and insurance claims. She also worked at Qays H. Zu’bi Attorneys & Legal Consultants (now Zu’bi & Partners, Attorneys & Legal Consultants) as an intern in September 2021, assisting with commercial, corporate and employment matters. Prior to that, she worked as a legal intern at Zain Bahrain from July to August 2019, supporting legal and compliance functions with a focus on corporate governance and personal data protection.
