Aamal joined Newton Legal Group in the year 2012 and is the Managing Partner of the firm. Aamal works closely with a number of key clients including the Office of H.R.H. the Prime Minister, Bahrain Petroleum Company BSC(C) (“Bapco”), Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill B.S.C (c) (‘Garmco’), and other state-owned companies. Aamal has also been appointed as a legal advisor in a number of governmental committees.
She advised Bapco from a Bahrain law perspective on the financing of the Bapco Modernisation Programme. The financing of the Bapco Modernisation Programme involved 26 financial institutions; she led the structuring of the security package for the said deal.
Aamal has issued numerous legal opinions required for the financing of Bapco and Nogaholding’s strategic projects with a combined value in excess of USD 6 billion.
Aamal has been appointed by the Government of Bahrain to lead two commercial litigation cases of high value (i.e. over USD 60 million). She has also been appointed as a legal adviser in a number of internal governmental committees that were formed to provide appropriate solutions to specific legal issues, potential projects, and amendments to legislations. In 2021, she was appointed to serve on the Panel of Conciliators maintained by the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes. Moreover, she has been appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dispute Resolution Center established by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
