ExperienceSumana joined Newton Legal in 2013 and works closely with Bapco, nogaholding, Mumtalakat, and the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister. Sumana’s experience ranges from providing local legal advice for clients to drafting a wide range of commercial contracts including construction, joint ventures, consulting, sale and purchase and distribution.

Among others, she has advised on the following

  • The Bahrain Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal
  • The Bapco Modernization Program
  • nogaholding’s Global Medium Term Note issue
  • The Bahrain Gas Plant Project (CGP-III)

Sumana participated in teaching the Bahraini Commercial Companies Law Course at the University of Bahrain for two years.

Sumana is a member of the team that heads the Legal Special Interest Group of the Bahrain British Business Forum.

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)- University of Reading, United Kingdom (graduated 2010)
  • Legal Practice Course (LPC)- College of Law, London, United Kingdom (graduated 2011)
  • Qualified as a Bahraini lawyer since 2015
  • Qualified as Solicitor in England and Wales since 2018
